Trauma-Informed Care in SBHC's
The webinar on trauma-informed care in school-based health centers was led by Mayachristine, a licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience in school-based settings. She discussed the importance of increased mental health services in schools, the symptoms of trauma, and the different trauma assessment methods. Maya emphasized the need for professional help and a safe, confidential space for students who have experienced trauma, the role of trauma-informed care principles, and the importance of identifying the impact of culture and gender on trauma.
