Increasing Immunizations Through Well-Child Visits: School-Based Health Center Learning Collaborative Opportunity

Overview

The School-Based Health Alliance (SBHA) is pleased to offer a new learning collaborative for school-based health centers (SBHCs) that want to increase well-child visits and vaccinations among school-aged youth. This activity is supported through an independent educational grant from Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, N.J., USA. 

Purpose and Scope

SBHA will select two cohorts of 12 SBHCs each to participate in a learning collaborative dedicated to increasing well-child visits and immunization rates among their school populations. Participating sites will receive four 90-minute virtual learning sessions and access to virtual convening and sharing platforms such as Zoom and Basecamp. They will be able to network and support their peers, solve problems collaboratively, establish relationships for expert technical assistance from SBHA, and have the opportunity to earn CEUs.  This is a free training and technical assistance opportunity. There is no cost for organizations to participate.

Applicant Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be an SBHC with a strong interest in increasing well-child visits and vaccinations in school-aged youth.
• Submit a complete application demonstrating capacity to meet project requirements.
• Identify a team of two to four staff members who will regularly participate in the four learning sessions.
• Agree to participate in all pre- and post-surveys.
• Agree to identify and implement at least one strategy to increase well-child visits and vaccinations in school-aged youth.
• Commit to full participation in the Learning Collaborative (Aug. 9-Oct. 18, 2023, or Aug. 30-Nov. 15, 2023)
• Attend all virtual learning sessions and actively engage with other participants and speakers.
• Maintain an open mind and willingness to uphold the safe space practices established by faculty and facilitators during sessions.
• Present to the group on progress and successes and challenges at least once.
• Communicate with other participants and subject matter experts between learning sessions.
• Complete an Action Plan and Case Presentation.
• Use Basecamp and Zoom for further discussion and details.
