Beth Mattey, MSN, RN, NCSN, FNASN received her BSN and MSN from the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware. Beth is retired from the Brandywine School District in Wilmington, Delaware, where she was the Coordinator of School Health Services.
Prior to that role she served as the school nurse at Mt. Pleasant High School for 16 years where she worked closely with the School Based Health Center to meet the needs of students. Beth believes school nurses and school located health services play a key role in promoting population health by creating a culture of health in the school community. She is the Co-Lead of the Delaware Nurses Action Coalition as part of the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action and is a Past President of the National Association of School Nurses. She has served as the NASN liaison to the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on School Health and on the National Board of Certification for School Nursing. She is a nationally certified school nurse and is a Fellow in the Academy of School Nursing. In 2017, she was inducted into the University of Delaware Wall of Fame, recognizing her professional achievements and connections to the University and the community.
