I feel lucky to have found school-based health centers (SBHCs) in my career, and I love that my work allows me to help increase youth access to health care. I was drawn to working in public health and increasing access, especially for youth, after being a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador where I helped organize medical brigades that came through the community. From that, I saw how much access to health care could affect one’s life, and I was instantly drawn to public health.
I have over 10 years of experience collaborating with health professionals, government, and community partners to implement state and federally funded initiatives to increase access to care and eight years of experience in program management and implementation of state and federally funded initiatives for both SBHCs and Head Start programs.
I graduated in 2016 with a Master of Public Health from the Colorado School of Public Health, University of Denver, with a focus on Leadership and Public Health Practice. I work remotely from Colorado and enjoy many outdoor activities: hiking, SUPing, pickleball, gardening, and spending time with my husband, daughter, and household of furballs. I also love reading and playing all the daily New York Times games.
