Tammy Greenwell, MPH

Senior Vice President

I have accumulated 16 years of experience in the school-based healthcare field and hold over 25 years of operational, quality/performance, and compliance expertise in both non-profit and for-profit organizational settings. My current role at SBHA involves providing consulting and implementation services to school-based health centers, overseeing programs, and providing technical assistance and training.

Upon my arrival in the mountains of western North Carolina in 2007, I took on the challenge of expanding a federally qualified health center's (FQHC) school-based services program from one site to four within my first year of employment. Presently, that same health center operates 36 school-based health center sites in eight different school districts and is continuously broadening its services. I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact of school-based healthcare on the lives of students and families, emphasizing the critical importance of providing affordable primary care, dental, medical, and vision services.

I was also part of the leadership for the North Carolina School-Based Health Alliance for the past 12 years and have been providing consulting services for federally qualified health centers starting or expanding school-based health center programs for over 8 years. Additionally, I hold a Master of Public Health with a focus in Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I am also credentialed as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE).

I am passionate about coaching and empowering others to unlock their full potential, whether it involves implementing and enhancing school-based healthcare sites, expanding high-quality services, or fostering a high-performing team to drive innovation and accomplish objectives. Beyond my professional pursuits, I take great pleasure in cooking, reading, traveling abroad, seeing live music with family and friends, and embracing outdoor activities with my husband, our four daughters, and our beloved pups.
